Who We Are /
Our Model

Attracting global capital along with domestic funding and local capital market development are critical for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Whilst the public sector needs partnerships with the private sector to shape and build sanitation and hygiene, and menstrual health and hygiene (MHH)  markets, the private sector requires financial returns in addition to social returns to be able to invest. Banks, corporations and institutional investors need assurance that social impact and financial returns can co-exist.

At SHF, our model brings aims to bring together the public and the private to create an enabling environment where investment in sanitation, hygiene and MHH is not only incentivized, but also thrives. We work with governments and partners to drive public and private investment into the sanitation supply chain to deliver sustainable services to people and communities in need, creating economic opportunities along the way and building self-functioning sanitation economies and menstrual hygiene marketplaces that promote inclusivity, circularity and investability.

Focusing on off-grid sanitation economies and menstrual hygiene solutions, with countries at the forefront, SHF aims to act as a catalyst, bridging the gap between social impact and the finance these markets need. Success will be transformative.
