What We Do

Sanitation economies are local economies. However, not all countries are at the same level of market readiness.

Country-owned is a key principle of SHF’s work. We work with countries looking to grow their sanitation economies coming in where relevant based on country investment readiness, market maturity and the enabling environment including governance and economic considerations, and the opportunity for making significant progress towards closing the gender gap.

Globally, we are also working to establish deeper recognition of the links between sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health and gender, environmental and health impacts.
